Bilateral trade between Brazil and the US continues to grow and heads towards a new record in 2022

Trade movements involving Brazil and the United States continue to grow and head towards a new record. In 2021, the bilateral trade between the countries hit a record, therefore, the expectation was of average growth in 2022, but first quarter statistics were surprising and estimates are of a new record.

In the first quarter of 2022, the trade balance involving both countries (sum of import and export volumes) registered USD 19 billion, increase of 40.2% in comparison with the same period of 2021, the highest figure for a quarter of the entire series, started in 1989.

According to Valor Econômico portal, Brazilian exports to the US reached USD 7.6 billion in the first three months of 2022, a growth of 35.9%. Imports registered USD 11.4 billion. Compared with the same period of 2022.
