USCIS resumes premium processing: find out if your petition can benefit

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) announced on May 29, 2020, that it will gradually resume premium processing for some visas made via I-129 forms (non-immigrant worker) and some green cards made via forms I-140 (petition for permanent residence for foreign workers).

On March 20, the agency had temporarily suspended premium processing due to the coronavirus crisis. The premium processing service gives petitioners the possibility to have their petition processed within 15 days.

The USCIS has defined a schedule for receiving premium processing requests:

  • Effective June 1st, 2020: USCIS will accept premium processing requests for all eligible petitions through Form I-140.
  • June 8th: Limitless H-1B petitions and Form I-129 (non-H-1B) petitions, including L-1 and O-1 petitions, filed before June 8th.
  • June 15th: limitless H-1B petitions filed simultaneously with an I-907 (premium processing request).
  • June 22: all other petitions through Form I-129.

All dates are subject to change.
